Chronic depression, suicidal tendencies, PTSD, addictions, immune deficiency problems, or grief that just does not heal. These are all modern definitions of Soul Loss. 

Soul retrieval gives such an individual suffering from this type of loss a chance to gain himself/herself back. The Shaman moves into an altered state of consciousness to travel to realities outside of normal perception, also known as hidden spirit worlds, and retrieves the lost part of the soul by acknowledging the former pain while gently negotiating the soul’s return to the body. The Shaman then returns the person's soul to current reality by blowing the missing soul part back into body through the head and heart.
